In Search of Adventure

For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, ride a raft on the Colorado River. Beginning at the base of historic Hoover Dam, you’ll float through Black Canyon on a fully motorized raft and enjoy lunch 12 miles downstream in Willow Beach, Arizona. It’s a water adventure you'll remember your whole life!


Need to know what to wear for your rafting adventure?

Below is a list of suggested items to bring with you on your rafting trip with Maverick. Keep in mind that the water temperature averages 50°F. Check the weather at the Grand Canyon before your trip since it can vary throughout the year. Remember that the West Rim temperature varies approximately 5-10°F from Las Vegas.
· Quick-drying shorts. Nylon is the preferred fabric and jeans are not recommended since they can weigh you down and do not dry quickly. The key is to have fabric that will dry quickly.
· Cotton T-shirt. It’s a great way to stay cool and keep the sun from burning you. Avoid heavy cotton shirts with longer sleeves that would make it difficult to swim.
· Hat with Brim. It can be either a baseball cap, bucket hat, or a sun hat with a wide brim. Just make sure that it will shade your face from the sun.
· Tennis shoes. If you have some old athletic shoes with laces or Velcro closing, that is preferred. You want to make sure that they are secure and won’t slip off. Do not wear flip flops or boots.
· Sunglasses. Don’t bring your designer frames in case they get damaged during the trip and we also recommend having a retention strap on your sunglasses to make sure you don’t lose them.
· Sunscreen. No matter what time of day or type of weather, we always recommend using sunscreen with a SPF 30+ to protect your skin.
· Swimsuit. Many people find it easier to wear as undergarments in case they get wet or want to take a dip in the cool water.
