While perfect for water activities like snorkeling and swimming, this beach is also known for its daily cliff diving ceremony held at sunset. During this show, the torches along the cliff known as Black Rock are lit by a cliff diver who then dives off. This ceremony is a reenactment of a triumph by King Kahekili, a former king of Maui.
