Maverick's Story

Maverick Helicopters, one of the largest aviation-based tourism companies in the world, was founded in 1995 by an entrepreneurial couple with one helicopter and a vision to create a company that would provide a true VIP-level experience not previously offered in the helicopter industry.

In the early years, the founders' daily responsibilities included booking reservations, flying passengers, maintaining the aircraft and shuttling guests. More than 20 years later, Maverick Helicopters now employs over 400 dedicated team members whose mission is to provide premier aerial experiences.

Maverick Aviation Group, the parent company of Maverick Helicopters, operates six locations in Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii. In addition to Maverick Helicopters, they also operate Maverick Airlines based in Henderson, Nevada.

In 2015, Maverick Helicopters opened its first location outside of the Southwest United States. Maverick's Maui, Hawaii, terminal became the fifth permanent location for the Maverick Aviation Group. A permanent location was established on Kauai, Hawaii in 2018, bringing the total to six.

Maverick Helicopters' commitment to customer service is matched only by its commitment to safety. It currently holds the industry’s top safety record and has received numerous Diamond Awards of Excellence from the Federal Aviation Administration. This achievement signifies the company's ongoing dedication to maintenance training and aircraft safety. The founder, a former pilot, knows the importance of maintenance quality and is hands-on in defining operational safety values to surpass industry standards.

The pilots at Maverick Helicopters far exceed the experience level of any other touring helicopter operator. They personally greet every passenger and give a full flight orientation prior to boarding. After takeoff, they narrate the journey and interact with guests. The pilots are the face of Maverick Helicopters, and passengers often credit them as the highlight of their trip.

Maverick Helicopters has received an array of travel industry accolades. It has been named "Best of Las Vegas" by the readers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and “Best of Nevada” by Nevada Magazine several times. In addition, Maverick Helicopters has received the prestigious Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association’s "Best Tour Company" award every year since the award's existence.

Maverick Helicopters is the only company in the world to be named twice to the Travel Channel's "Top 10 Best Helicopter Thrills in the World."

Maverick Helicopters has been an integral part in numerous film projects, partnering with some of the biggest networks in television such as Travel Channel, FOX, NBC, ABC, CBS, E!, Food Network and Discovery Channel.

With its unmatched customer service, the finest aircraft, the most skilled pilots, the highest safety standards and unique excursions, Maverick Helicopters continues to be the industry leader in tourism-based operations.
